St-Jean Baptiste Weekend: Cycling and Hiking
Friday 21 June – Monday 24 June 2019
Franconia is a destination we have not been to in many years and this is our only long weekend this year for both hikers and cyclists.
Franconia is nestled in the White Mountains National Forest. Hike Mount Lafayette along the Franconia Ridge or try Cannon Mountain and the Kinsman Ridge. Maps and trails are ready for a great weekend of stunning views.
Cycling in the Franconia area is one of the most enjoyable ways to explore this part of New England. The Franconia Notch Bike Path offers a nine mile, paved, multi-use path that runs past some iconic New Hampshire landmarks and stunning scenery including Profile Lake and Cannon Mountain, and is the starting point to routes varying from easy to difficult. You can also ride to the top of the Kancamagus Trail before descending towards Franconia. Nearby, Echo Lake has stupendous views and a beach.
