Carpooling details

Please tell us with whom you will be traveling. If you need a lift, the carpool coordinators will be in touch with you. If you have space in your car, please tell us how many passengers you can accommodate.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Border Crossing for U.S. Trips

It is the responsibility of each participant to have the proper documents to travel to the U.S. and back. With the U.S. administration imposing more severe border crossing restrictions, extra caution is needed. The bus /carpool cannot wait for you if you are held up at the border. Therefore you must evaluate for yourself whether the benefit of a trip to the U.S. is worth the risk of being left at the border. Furthermore, if you are traveling with a passport other than Canadian or American, please inform the trip leader or carpool driver at the outset. Participants requiring a visa to enter the U.S must have obtained their visa prior to the trip.

St-Jean Baptiste Weekend: Cycling and Hiking

Franconia, NH

Friday 21 June – Monday 24 June 2019

Franconia is a destination we have not been to in many years and this is our only long weekend this year for both hikers and cyclists.

Franconia is nestled in the White Mountains National Forest. Hike Mount Lafayette along the Franconia Ridge or try Cannon Mountain and the Kinsman Ridge. Maps and trails are ready for a great weekend of stunning views.

Cycling in the Franconia area is one of the most enjoyable ways to explore this part of New England. The Franconia Notch Bike Path offers a nine mile, paved, multi-use path that runs past some iconic New Hampshire landmarks and stunning scenery including Profile Lake and Cannon Mountain, and is the starting point to routes varying from easy to difficult. You can also ride to the top of the Kancamagus Trail before descending towards Franconia. Nearby, Echo Lake has stupendous views and a beach.
