X-Country, Downhill & Snowshoeing Weekend
Friday 26 to Sunday 28 January, 2018
We were here in 2007 and again in 2012. Now, it is time to return to one of our favourite winter destinations – Baie-Saint-Paul – to enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing and snowshoeing in two excellent areas.
Our luxury bus will take us on Friday night to the beautiful Auberge Le Cormoran et Belle Plage with shared accommodation (two persons per room). Dinner Saturday night and breakfast Saturday and Sunday are included at the Auberge.
On Saturday, our luxury bus will transport us to Les Sentiers des Caps de Charlevoix for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and to Le Massif (Summit) for downhill skiing. Sunday we will go to Le Centre de Plein Air Les Sources Joyeuses in La Malbaie for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing (no downhill skiing here). Cross-country skiing for all levels is available at both centres.
Included: Return transportation between Montreal and Baie-Saint-Paul by luxury bus, occupancy for two nights, two breakfasts and dinner on Saturday night, all taxes and tips. Saturday we will have a BYOB 5 à 7 so make sure to bring along your favourite beverage as the Auberge does not have a liquor license.
Excluded: Trail and lift tickets. Please bring small bills and change for the trail fees to be collected on the bus to the ski centres. Lunches – bring something which does not require refrigeration for lunch each day, or buy lunch at the centres.
Registration Deadline: For the $255 rate, payment must be received by December 22, 2017. After that date, a $20 extra charge will apply. Once all available spaces are filled, a waiting list will be created (see club policy on website under Membership / Buying and Selling Trips. If a place becomes available, the weekend coordinator will contact those on the waiting list to fill the vacancy.
Note: If you need to rent equipment, do so in Montreal as it will likely be less expensive and you won’t be disappointed by a limited selection.
Departure Time: From the southwest corner of Atwater and Ste-Catherine Streets at 6:00 p.m. sharp on Friday, January 26, 2018. Travel time is approximately 4 hours. Make sure you have had supper or bring food to eat on the bus as there will be no stop for food on Friday, but there will be a public washroom stop. On Sunday, we will depart from the Auberge at 5:10 p.m. and will make a short stop en route to pick up food to eat on the ride home.
Contact: Please leave a message on the club voicemail (514-359-6781) for Susan Harris, the weekend coordinator, if you have any questions.
This will be a very popular destination so sign up quickly to be sure you are part of the gang!
